| As the name implies, this course is an introduction to the United States．This is a first look at a country different from Japan in size and racial composition． |

| l．Exams：There will be thre exams during the term． No books, notes，dictionaries，or notebooks will be allowed during the exams． The tests will be in English．I will give you a list of sample questions one week before the test．You should try to answer these at home in preparation for the test．I will select the test questions from this list. 2．Assignments：There will be some in−class assignments．You will be given a grade on these. 3．Language policy：NOTE that all work is to be written in English and all lectures will be in English． |
